FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Sophomore Patty Tavatanakit was named a WGCA First Team All-American, as announced on Tuesday. It marks the second year in a row she has been named First Team All-American.
Tavatanakit is on the Watch List for the PING WGCA Division I Player of the Year and ANNIKA Awards. She won a second-straight, NCAA Regional title earlier this month, shooting an 8-under 208 in East Lansing for her seventh career victory and third of the season (ANNIKA Intercollegiate, Dual Match Versus Denver). It marked the eighth win for a Bruin in NCAA Regional play (Bronte Law, 2016; Stephanie Kono, 2011; Maria Jose Uribe, 2008 and 2009; Sydnee Michaels, 2007; Hannah Jun, 2004).
The Pac-12 First Team honoree led the Bruins with a 72.2 scoring average, finishing inside the Top 10 on six occasions. Tavatanakit had 11 under-par rounds, with seven of those being in the 60s, shooting a 9-under 63 in the final round of the ANNIKA. She shot a 13-under 203 in her three rounds at the ANNIKA and an 11-under 205 in her second-place finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Tavatanakit also tied for fourth at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, tied for 10th at the PING/ASU Invitational and tied for 22nd at the Pac-12 Championship.
