LOS ANGELES – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named the UCLA women's swimming and diving squad to its 2019 Spring Scholar All-America Team. UCLA registered a 3.32 GPA as a team.
CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart noted: "Coach Gallagher has been a mainstay in our sport - producing champions in and out of the water."
Earlier this year, the Bruins had 14 student-athletes named to the 2018-19 Pac-12 All-Academic Team. That group of honorees was highlighted by senior Elena Escalas, who was named to the Second Team.
Both Escalas and Emma Cain were honored at the 2019 UCLA Scholar-Athlete Banquet in late May. Escalas received the Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award (senior student-athletes who have made the Director's Honor Roll every quarter they were enrolled at UCLA) while Cain was named to the UCLA All-Academic Team (person from each UCLA team with the highest cumulative GPA).
The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
