A trio of Bruins were named to the Golfweek All-American teams, as sophomore Patty Tavatanakit garnered First Team honors, junior Mariel Galdiano was named to the Third Team and senior Beth Wu picked up Honorable Mention accolades.
Tavatanakit, who was named a Golfweek First Team All-American for the second year in a row, also earned WGCA First Team All-American and All-Pac-12 Conference First Team honors. A member of the Watch List for the PING WGCA Division I Player of the Year and ANNIKA Awards, Tavatanakit won a second-straight, NCAA Regional title in May, shooting an 8-under 208 in East Lansing for her seventh career victory and third of the season (ANNIKA Intercollegiate, Dual Match Versus Denver). She led the Bruins with a 72.2 scoring average, finishing inside the Top 10 on six occasions. Tavatanakit had 11 under-par rounds, with seven of those being in the 60s, shooting a 9-under 63 in the final round of the ANNIKA. She shot a 13-under 203 in her three rounds at the ANNIKA and an 11-under 205 in her second-place finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Tavatanakit also tied for fourth at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, tied for 10th at the PING/ASU Invitational and tied for 22nd at the Pac-12 Championship.
Galdiano, who recorded her third-straight, Golfweek All-American honor after being named Second Team her first two seasons, was an Honorable Mention WGCA All-American. She was second on the team this year with a 72.9 scoring average, posting victories at the Golfweek Conference Challenge and the Stanford Intercollegiate, the first two wins of her career. Galdiano had four Top 10s and eight Top 20s, including a T-11 finish at the Silverado Showdown and a T-13 showing at the Pac-12 Women's Golf Championship.
