UCLA's Megan Slabbert won a silver medal representing Great Britain at the U-23 World Championships in Sarasota, Fla., on Sunday, July 28.
Slabbert, who graduated from UCLA in 2019, competed for Great Britain in the women's eight (BW8+). The crew from Great Britain posted a final time of 6:22.52, finishing in second place (behind the Netherlands). Great Britain crossed the finish line ahead of the United States, Romania and Germany.
Slabbert, who hails from Richmond (in Great Britain) stroked the Bruins' varsity eight crew during her senior season. In 2019, Slabbert helped the Bruins secure a fourth-place team finish at Pac-12 Championships at Lake Natoma.
