UCLA senior Teagan Micah has been named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week, her seventh career award and the Bruins' 79th all-time weekly honor.
Micah (Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia) gave the Bruins a pair of shutout victories to start the season, making one save in each of UCLA's wins over Iowa State (3-0) and at Long Beach State (1-0). The 2019 Australian World Cup team member made history for the Bruins with her start on Friday, becoming the first goalkeeper in UCLA history to earn the start on opening day all four years. Micah also nabbed her 200th career save in the game, making her just the fourth Bruin in history with 200+ saves. The Bruin senior ranks No. 4 on UCLA's career charts for saves (201), shutouts (28) and wins (48).
The Bruins will face No. 1 Florida State on Thursday at Banc of California Stadium for Battle at the Banc, hosted by USC. The Bruins and Seminoles kick off the doubleheader at 5:30pm, followed by USC vs. Florida at 8pm. On Sunday, all four teams move to UCLA's Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
