PERTHSHIRE, Scotland - Bruin alum and Solheim Cup rookie Bronte Law was a part of the victorious Team Europe squad, which defeated the United States by a score of 14.5-13.5 to win the biennial event at the Gleneagles Hotel, PGA Centenary Course.
Law was sent out in the first match of the event on Friday with partner Carlota Ciganda, as the duo halved a point in foursomes. Law would earn another half point in the Friday afternoon fourball with Ciganda, as Europe led the U.S. 4.5-3.5 after day one.
After dropping her Saturday foursomes match with Ciganda and resting for the afternoon fourball, Law faced Ally McDonald in singles play, with the overall score tied heading into Sunday's action. With Team Europe down by one point, they needed each of the final two matches to go their way, and one of them was in Law's hands. Even with McDonald after 15 holes, Law made birdie on the 16th to go 1-up and then won the match on the 17th to clinch a point. Team Europe would win the final match to win the Solheim Cup and snap a two-time losing streak in the event.
