NEW YORK โ€“ Senior Elleyse Garrett moved to No. 7 all-time for the best indoor pole vault mark in Bruin history, while sophomore Alyssa Wilson improved to 3-0 this season in the shot put to highlight UCLA's performances on day one of the Columbia Challenge.

Garrett cleared a collegiate indoor-best 4.20m (13-9.25) in the pole vault, which helped her finish tied for second in the event.

UCLA opened the meet with Wilson, once again, winning the shot put as she tossed 17.24m (56-6.75). Meanwhile, senior Ashlie Blake was right behind at second place, posting a mark of 16.89m (55-5).

On the men's side, Dotun Ogundeji continued a strong start to his senior campaign, earning second place in the shot put with a season-best toss of 19.07m (62-6.75).

Freshman Seth Holloway made the finals of the 60m dash and matched his collegiate-best time of 6.80 to notch eighth place.

In the men's distance medley relay, the foursome of redshirt junior Arturo Sotomayor, redshirt senior Joe Herrera, junior Riley Kelly and junior Carter Blunt combined for a time of 9:44.61 to snag fourth place in the event.

UCLA's DMR quartet of junior Cassandra Durgy, freshman Kyrah Johnson, sophomore Jacquelyn Hill and freshman Gwyneth George took fifth at 11:45.07.

In the prelims of the women's 60m dash, senior Suzie Acolatse just missed the finals, taking 10th with a season-best time of 7.60 seconds.
