LOS ANGELES โ€“ The UCLA track & field team will compete in the Dr. Sander Invitational/Columbia Challenge this weekend, as the Bruins head to the New York City Armory for the third straight season.

Senior Ashlie Blake and sophomore Alyssa Wilson will kick off the event for the Bruins, as the duo is set to compete in the shot put at 12:30 p.m. (ET) on Friday. UCLA's track events will begin with the women's 60m dash on Friday at 1:30 p.m. (ET), headlined by senior Suzie Acolatse, senior Schuyler Moore and redshirt junior Christina Chenault.

The UCLA men will open competition on Friday with the 60m dash at 1:45 p.m. (ET), and the Bruin heat features redshirt senior Leon Powell, junior Jesse Audelo and freshman Seth Holloway.

Last Meet
The Bruins posted several strong marks and collected four event victories at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Invitational on Jan. 18-19 in Albuquerque, N.M.

It was another solid meet for sophomore Alyssa Wilson, who won the weight throw (21.12m) and shot put (17.57m). Her effort in the weight throw was good for third all-time in UCLA indoor history.

The success for UCLA throwers didn't stop there, as senior Justin Stafford recorded a career-best 20.61m in the weight throw to earn second place and notch the fifth-best indoor mark in program history.

On day two, redshirt senior Elleyse Garrett cleared 4.15m (13-07.25) in the pole vault to secure a lifetime-best indoor mark and first-place finish, and senior CJ Alumbres took home first place in the triple jump, bounding 14.93m (48-11.75) to secure the win.

UCLA newcomers made their presence known in the Bruins' last time out, as well. Freshman Sean Lee cleared 2.16m in the high jump for a second-place finish, while senior transfer Cameron Stone led the way for the Bruin men in the 400m, crossing with a time of 48.16 to take second place in the collegiate competition. In the women's unseeded 400m dash, freshman Nyree Brown clocked a time of 58.16 to ultimately claim second place. Seth Holloway, another freshman, qualified for the finals of the 60m dash and later earned third place with a time of 6.80.

Bruins in the Polls
The Bruin women jumped two spots to No. 28 in the latest USTFCCCA National Rating Index, good for 10th in the West region. The UCLA men currently sit No. 6 in the West and No. 55 overall.

Next Meet
UCLA will compete in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic on Feb. 1-2 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
