Bruins Return Home to Take On Washington State

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women's basketball team will tip off the month of February on Friday against Washington State. The Bruins will look to protect their perfect 30-0 home record against the Cougars, as the two teams are set to compete at 7:05 p.m. (PT).

This marks the 63rd meeting between UCLA and Washington State, with the Bruins owning the series, 54-8. UCLA has never lost to the Cougars at home, enjoying a perfect 30-0 record. UCLA is looking to extend its winning streak vs. Washington State to three games. Last season, the Bruins took down the Cougars on the road, 79-71. The Bruins owned a 51-29 rebounding advantage in that game, led by Lajahna Drummer's 10 points and 14 rebounds. UCLA's last meeting against the Cougars at Pauley Pavilion came on Feb. 19, 2017, as the Bruins won 67-48. UCLA survived a triple-overtime thriller against Arizona on Sunday afternoon, topping the Wildcats 98-93 in historic fashion. The game marked UCLA's first-ever triple overtime game, as sophomore Michaela Onyenwere mustered her seventh double-double of the year with 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead the way.
Senior Lajahna Drummer scored 18 points and had a career-high 17 rebounds, while senior Japreece Dean registered a career-high 26 points.
Bruins Tabbed NCAA Team of the Week
After completing the weekend sweep over No. 16 Arizona State and Arizona, UCLA was selected as the NCAA Women's Basketball Team of the Week.
Against the Sun Devils, the Bruins overcame a four-point deficit with less than two minutes remaining. In the final seconds, Japreece Dean buried a 3-pointer near the top of the key to help the Bruins pull off the upset, 61-59.
Nearly 48 hours later, UCLA played its first triple-overtime affair in program history, topping the Wildcats, 98-93. The Bruins scored 37 points in the three overtime periods, led by Michaela Onyenwere's 13 points.
