SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA redshirt freshman Kyle Philips has been named Pac-12 Football Freshman Player of the Week for Week 8, the conference announced Monday.

Philips set career highs in receptions and receiving yards for the third consecutive week in the Bruins' 34-16 win at Stanford on Thursday, Oct. 16. The San Marcos, Calif. native became the first UCLA player since Caleb Wilson in 2018 to pull down 10 catches in a game and hit the century mark in yardage for the first time in his career with an even 100. He also scored the Bruins' first two touchdowns for the first multi-score game of his career.

The Pac-12 Football Freshman Player of the Week award marks the second of Philips' career and season. He also accomplished the feat after the Bruins' victory at Washington State in September.
