Redshirt senior running back Joshua Kelley of the UCLA football team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 14-20.
Kelley produced a season-high 176 rushing yards as UCLA bested Stanford for the first time since 2008. The senior had runs of 53 yards, which set up a short touchdown run to give UCLA a 21-10 lead, and 54 yards on a third-and-three play which resulted in a fourth quarter touchdown. Kelley ran for 87 yards in the first half and 89 in the second half as UCLA captured its second road game victory of the conference season. He totaled 75 yards in the fourth quarter alone as UCLA ended any hopes of a Cardinal rally. The rushing yardage pushed Kelley into a tie for 20th on the all-time UCLA career rushing list (1,814 yards) in just his second season on the field for the Bruins. It marked Kelley's second 100-yard game of this season and the eighth overall of his career. Kelley also caught two passes in the Stanford game for 13 yards.
This is Kelley's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season and second of his career.
