SAN FRANCISCO โ Michaela Onyenwere was selected to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team by the Media, the Pac-12 Conference announced on Thursday afternoon.
In addition, the Bruins were picked to finish fourth by the Media in the preseason poll, collecting 175 points behind Oregon (239), Stanford (219) and Oregon State (200).
Onyenwere is coming off a breakout sophomore year in which she led the team in scoring (18.3 PPG) and finished second on the team in rebounding (8.5 RPG). She eclipsed the 20-point mark in 17 games and erupted for 30 points in UCLA's 85-80 win at No. 9 Maryland in the NCAA Tournament, propelling the Bruins to their fourth-straight Sweet 16. She was brilliant in Pac-12 play, where she notched averages of 20.4 points and 8.5 rebounds. Onyenwere was a nightmare for opponents on the glass last season, as she ranked seventh in the NCAA and second in the conference in offensive boards per outing (4.1 ORPG).

UCLA finished 22-13 a year ago and placed fourth in the Pac-12 Conference, dialing in 12 wins during the regular season. The Bruins knocked out Arizona State in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas before succumbing to 2019 Final Four participant Oregon in overtime.

Three starters return for UCLA. In addition to Onyenwere, the Bruins bring back Japreece Dean (14.1 PPG, 4.9 APG) and 2019 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection Lindsey Corsaro (7.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG). UCLA also welcomed a top-10 recruiting class, highlighted by a pair of McDonald's All-Americans in Jaden Owens and Charisma Osborne.

Arizona State (155) and Arizona (140) went 5-6 in the preseason poll. Utah (120) was picked seventh, followed by USC (87), Washington (79), California (57), Washington State (56) and Colorado (29).
