The 2020 UCLA men's volleyball team will swing into action this weekend with a series of exhibition matches across town at USC on the Galen Center Pavilion courts. The Bruins host their annual fall tournament in a couple of weeks.
This Saturday, UCLA will split its roster and compete in the USC Men's Volleyball Fall Tournament. Each team will play 3 matches. Matches are best of 3 sets, with the first 2 sets to 25 points and the third set to 15 points (must win by 2 points). The participating teams are: USC (2 teams), UCLA (2 teams), Stanford, Pepperdine (2 teams), Long Beach State (2 teams), CSUN (two teams), UC San Diego (2 teams), Concordia and Westcliff. The event will be held upstairs in the Galen Center Pavilion side courts and admission is free.
UCLA begins play at the Trojan event with both its Blue and Gold squads in action at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue will open with a match against Long Beach State Gold, while the Gold will start off against Long Beach State Black. Play continues throughout the day with UCLA and USC squaring off at 4 p.m. in the final slot of matches.
On Nov. 15-16, UCLA will host its annual Fall Invitational in the SAC Gym on campus with teams from CSUN, UC Santa Barbara and USC set to attend. Match times will be 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. on Friday night and 9 am, 11:30 am, 2 pm and 4:30 pm on Saturday. Admission is free and seating is limited. The playing schedule will be announced soon.
On Dec. 7, UCLA will host MPSF rival Pepperdine for an exhibition. Time to be determined.
