Bruins Second, One Shot Back Heading Into Final Round

ERIN, Wis. - It will be a race to the finish on Tuesday, as UCLA and six other teams are within seven shots of the lead heading into the final round of the Marquette Intercollegiate. The Bruins shot an even-par 288 on Monday at Erin Hills Golf Course and are at 4-over 580 after 36 holes. UCLA trails Purdue (+3, 579), with Indiana (+5, 581), Northwestern (+6, 582), UC Davis (+6, 582), USF (+7, 583) and Marquette (+10, 586) hot on its heels.
Senior Hidetoshi Yoshihara and junior Eddy Lai are both tied for 10th at even-par 144 after each shot 1-under 71s. Lai made five birdies on No. 2, 7, 14, 16 and 18 and four bogeys, while Yoshihara had four birdies (No. 9, 14, 15 and 18) and three bogeys.
Junior Devon Bling and sophomore Bryan Wiyang Teoh are each tied for 17th (+2, 146) after both shot 1-over 73s on Monday. Bling made three birdies on No. 3, 11 and 14 and four bogeys. Teoh had three birdies (No. 2, 5 and 14), two bogeys and a double. Sophomore Sean Maruyama posted a 2-over 74 and is tied for 55th (+11, 155) after making one birdie on the first hole, one bogey and one double. Sophomore Rory Feng (+17, 161) is 71st after shooting a 5-over 77 on two birdies on No. 2 and 14 and seven bogeys.
The Bruins begin their final round on Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. CT/7:40 a.m. PT off the first tee in the order of Maruyama, Bling, Teoh, Lai and Yoshihara. Feng tees off No. 10 at 8:40 a.m. CT/6:40 a.m. PT.
