UCLA Tabbed Eighth in Pac-12 Preseason Media Poll

SAN FRANCISCO โ The UCLA men's basketball team has been picked to finish eighth in the Pac-12 Conference's preseason media poll, as announced at Pac-12 Men's Basketball Media Day on Tuesday.

Oregon was selected first in the preseason poll and received nine possible first-place votes. Oregon narrowly edged Colorado in the preseason poll. The Buffaloes were picked to finish second, also securing nine possible first-place votes. Washington was picked to finish third (six first-place votes), while Arizona was selected fourth (two first-place votes). USC was selected fifth in the preseason poll (one first-place vote).

The final six teams in this season's poll included Arizona State (sixth), Oregon State (seventh), UCLA (eighth), Utah (ninth), Stanford (10th), Washington State (11th) and California (12th).

Media have correctly picked the Pac-12's regular-season winner in 16 of 27 previous tries, while the winner has been accurately chosen in 18 of the 30 all-time preseason votes.

UCLA is being represented at Pac-12 Men's Basketball Media Day by Mick Cronin, The Michael Price Family UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach, and seniors Prince Ali and Alex Olesinski. The Bruins' appearance on the Pac-12 Network is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (PT).

Coach Cronin will appear live on ESPNU just after 3:45 p.m. (PT) during a one-hour live program that begins at 3:00 p.m.

UCLA is scheduled to open the regular season in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom against Long Beach State on Wednesday, Nov. 6 (game time is 8 p.m. PT). The Bruins will host one exhibition game on Wednesday, Oct. 30, against Stanislaus State (game time is 7:30 p.m. PT).
