UCLA Earns No. 2 Seed in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's soccer team (14-4-1) earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament for the third consecutive year and will host Southland Conference champions Lamar University (16-6-0) in the NCAA first round on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6pm at Wallis Annenberg Stadium. By virtue of their No. 2 seed, the Bruins would be in line to host through the third round.
The winner of the UCLA-Lamar match will advance to the second round to face the winner of Clemson (11-6-1) vs. Vanderbilt (14-5-1). In the other half of the quadrant are Duke (8-3-7), Utah (8-8-4), Milwaukee (17-1-1) and No. 3 seed Wisconsin (14-3-2).
The Bruins are one of nine Pac-12 teams to earn a spot in the Tournament and one of four Pac-12 teams to earn a Top 4 seed, joining No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 USC and No. 4 Washington.
This is UCLA's 23rd overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have a 64-18-5 all-time NCAA record and have advanced to the Round of 16 or beyond in six of the last seven seasons, including quarterfinal berths in 2018 and 2014, a finals berth in 2017, and a championship victory in 2013.
UCLA enters postseason on a five-game winning streak and has won eight of its last nine games. The Bruins finished second in the Pac-12 standings. Lamar is on a 12-game winning streak and boasts the nation's No. 3 scoring offense (3.05 goals per game) and top goal-scorer in Esther Okoronkwo (25 goals).
Tickets for Friday's first round match will go on sale Tuesday at 10 am at the UCLA Central Ticket Office and online at uclabruins.com/tickets. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth/students (w/valid ID) in advance, and $12 for adults and $8 for youth at the door.
