Defending Champs Unveil 2020 Softball Schedule

The defending national champion UCLA Bruins open up the 2020 schedule on Thursday, Feb. 6, as the home slate features 26 contests, including two non-conference tournaments and four Pac-12 series', as well as 26 matchups versus 2019 NCAA Tournament squads.

The 2020 season begins with the Bruins hosting the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament (Feb. 6-9) at Easton Stadium. UCLA takes on CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 6 and 8) and Pittsburgh twice (Feb. 8 and 9), Cal Poly (Feb. 7) and San Diego (Feb. 9).

The next two non-conference tournaments will see the Bruins go coast-to-coast. First, UCLA will take part in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational (Feb. 14-16) in Clearwater, Fla., facing Alabama on Feb. 14, Liberty and Georgia on Feb. 15 and USF and Florida State on Feb. 16. Alabama, Georgia, USF and Florida State all made the postseason in 2019.

The Bruins then make their annual trip to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 21-23) in Cathedral City, Calif., playing four teams which made the '19 NCAA Tournament, as well as the best softball team in the world. UCLA faces Texas A&M on Feb. 21, Wisconsin and Florida on Feb. 22 and Auburn and the United States Olympic Team on Feb. 23.

The first mid-week game for UCLA will be at Easton Stadium on Feb. 27 versus '19 NCAA team Texas. The following day, the Bruins travel south to the San Diego Classic (Feb. 28-March 1), facing Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 28), 2019 NCAA team Weber State and San Diego State (Feb. 29) and San Diego (March 1).

After entertaining St. John's in a mid-week game on March 3, the Bruins host the UCLA/Long Beach State Invitational (March 5-8) at Easton, facing Michigan on March 5, UCF on March 6, Boston U. and Minnesota on March 7 and Cal Poly on March 8. Both Michigan and Boston U. made the 2019 postseason, while the contest with Minnesota will be a rematch of the 2019 Women's College World Series opener.

Pac-12 Conference play begins against Arizona State at Easton Stadium (March 13-15) and then continues with a Sunday-Monday series at Utah (March 21-23). UCLA will host Oregon State (March 27-29) before playing the Bay Area teams in back-to-back weekends, first up north at California (April 3-5) and then at Easton Stadium versus Stanford (April 9-11).

The Bruins take a break from Pac-12 play during their conference bye week, hosting UC Santa Barbara on April 14 before traveling to '19 NCAA team Cal State Fullerton on April 16 and Loyola Marymount on April 20.

The final stretch of Pac-12 series' starts in Tucson at Arizona (April 24-26) in a rematch of a '19 WCWS game, followed by a home series and WCWS semifinal rematch with Washington (May 1-3). The regular season concludes with a three-game set at Oregon (May 7-9).

Television times for all Pac-12 Conference games will be announced in mid-December. All dates and times are subject to change.

The NCAA Tournament starts with Regionals (May 15-17) and Super Regionals (May 21-24) at campus sites before the Women's College World Series descends upon Oklahoma City (May 28-June 3).
