
No. 11 UCLA Rallies to Remain Undefeated

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Michaela Onyenwere scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and No. 11 UCLA closed the game with a 15-3 run to rally for a 61-56 win over UCF at the Cavalier Classic on Saturday at John Paul Jones Arena. It marked the 17th double-double of Onyenwere's career and the 21st time she has scored 20 or more points.
The Bruins (6-0), who play Virginia on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT, were down 53-46 after Diamond Battles opened the fourth-quarter scoring with two free throws for the Knights (4-3).
Japreece Dean, who scored 19 points, opened a 9-0 surge with a 3-pointer and closed it with a layup that put UCLA up 55-53 at the 4:25 mark. Sianni Martin quickly answered with a three-point play, but from there the Knights missed their last five shots and had a turnover.
Dean tied the game with a free throw with 1:50 to play. After a defensive stop and the shot clock winding down, freshman Charisma Osborne broke a tie with a 3-pointer with just under a minute to go. It was her first field goal of the game. Onyenwere sealed the win with an offensive rebound and putback after the Bruins missed a free throw with 15 seconds remaining.
Martin led UCF with 22 points and Battles had 11.
Neither team led by more than seven points and there were 14 ties and 16 lead changes.
