LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA men's tennis team will conclude its fall schedule at a pair of Southern California tournaments, scheduled to begin Wednesday with the potential to run through Sunday.
Junior Keegan Smith, a winner of six of seven fall singles matches, will get underway at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships in Newport Beach, Calif. on Wednesday. The first four days of competition will take place at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach Country Club, while Sunday's final rounds will move to Newport Beach Tennis Club. The 20th-ranked Smith was selected to the 64-player singles draw.
A contingent of Bruins will also head to the 63rd annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships at USC's Marks Tennis Stadium. Play includes singles and doubles matches, with qualifying beginning Thursday. Champions will be crowned Sunday.
LAST WEEK
The Bruins were in action at a pair of tournaments, posting quarterfinal-round showings in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. and a final-round result in Las Vegas. Senior Ben Goldberg and junior Connor Hance each reached the final eight of the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational singles tournament and teamed to make the quarterfinals of the doubles draw. Redshirt junior Connor Rapp and sophomore Max Wild, meanwhile, paired to reach the Larry Easley Memorial Classic final round. Sophomores Eric Hahn and Patrick Zahraj also tallied wins at the Kramer Club, while redshirt freshman Blaine Hovenier posted one in the desert.

Smith's appearance in the fall finale marks the first for a UCLA player since Martin Redlicki and Logan Staggs were selected to the inaugural field in 2017. Seeded fifth in the singles main draw, Redlicki advanced to the final before falling to top-seeded Nuno Borges of Mississippi State.

Last year's event saw the unseeded combination of Wild and Bryce Pereira advance to the doubles quarterfinal round before bowing out against fourth-seeded Bradley Frye and Jack Jaede of USC, 8-6. On the singles side, then-freshman Hahn posted to three-set wins to reach the final eight. He was ultimately felled by the tournament's eventual champion, Daniel Cukierman of USC.
