MVB Ranked No. 2 in Preseason Poll

The UCLA men's volleyball team was ranked second in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I-II Top-15 Poll released on Thursday. The Bruins finished second in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) regular season a year ago and posted an overall record of 19-9 last season. All-America middle blocker Daenan Gyimah headlines the list of returning players for the Bruins who will begin the 2020 regular season on January 2 at Daemen College in Buffalo, N.Y. after squaring off against three Canadian teams in a series of exhibition matches to start the new campaign.
The first home match for the Bruins will be on Jan. 30 against No. 10 Princeton. UCLA will host matches this season against No. 3 BYU, No. 4 Long Beach State, No. 5 UC Santa Barbara, No. 7 Stanford, No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 12 USC, and No. 13 CSUN. The Bruins will go on the road to battle No. 3 BYU, No. 4 Long Beach State, No. 5 UC Santa Barbara, No. 7 Stanford, No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 10 Princeton, No. 12 USC, No. 13 CSUN and No. 15 Penn State.
To cap off the exhibition season, UCLA will host No. 9 Pepperdine on Saturday, Dec. 7 for a series of ball drills featuring the two teams starting at 10 a.m. before taking a lunch break and regrouping for a best-of-five exhibition match which is slated to start at 2 p.m. in SAC Gym.
