Series History
Friday marks the 87th meeting between UCLA and Stanford, with the Cardinal owning a 61-25 advantage. The Bruins are 13-23 at home against Stanford and have won two straight against the Cardinal in Los Angeles. In the last meeting between the two historic programs, UCLA dropped an 86-80 decision on Jan. 6 at Maples Pavilion. That loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Bruins, which held a seven-point halftime advantage on the road. Japreece Dean scored a team-high 22 points in that game. Last season, UCLA defeated Stanford at home, 64-53. The Bruins led from start to finish, as Jordin Canada scored 21 points and had five assists.
UCLA's Last Time Out
The Bruins exploded for a season-high 100 points on a campaign-best 37 made field goals in a 100-90 win over then-ranked No. 17 Utah on Feb. 10.
Senior Kennedy Burke scored a career-high 26 points and became the 22nd player in program history with 500 career field goals.
Sophomore Michaela Onyenwere added 25 points, while senior Japreece Dean scored 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.
UCLA set a program record for points in a quarter with 40 in the fourth stanza.
Sophomore Sensation
Michaela Onyenwere is enjoying an explosive sophomore campaign, having posted 11 20-plus point games and nine double-doubles. She has scored in double figures in each of the last 12 games and has eclipsed the 25-point mark seven times, including a career-high-tying 29 points at No. 18/19 Cal. In Pac-12 play, Onyenwere is averaging 20.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Onyenwere has made 15 3-pointers this season, all of which have come in Pac-12 play (only had one last year).
The Race to 800
With a career-high 17 boards at Arizona on Jan. 27, Lajahna Drummer moved to 12th on UCLA's all-time rebounding list. She is currently 10 boards away from becoming the ninth player in program history with at least 800 rebounds and needs five more rebounds to pass Noelle Quinn, who pulled down 794 rebounds from 2004-07.
Buckets for Burke
In UCLA's last time out vs. Utah, Kennedy Burke eclipsed the 500-career-field-goal mark, becoming the 22nd player to do so in program history. She finished with a career-high 26 points to lead the Bruins to their fourth top-25 win this season. Prior to that performance, Burke joined the top-20 in UCLA's all-time scoring list when she posted 10 points at Colorado.
