Giant-Killing Bruins Set Eyes on No. 12 Oregon State

LOS ANGELES – Fresh off one of the biggest wins in program history, the UCLA women's basketball team will look to take that momentum to Corvallis, Ore., where the Bruins will face No. 12 Oregon State on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 1:02 p.m. (PT).

Series History
Sunday marks the 75th meeting all-time between UCLA and Oregon State, with the Bruins holding a 47-27 advantage. Of late, Oregon State has dominated the series, winning nine of the last 12 meetings. In the last meeting on Jan. 11, the Beavers snapped a three-game losing streak at Pauley Pavilion, sneaking away with an 83-73 win. Michaela Onyenwere finished with 24 points, while Lajahna Drummer had 18 points and 10 rebounds. In the last matchup in Corvallis, UCLA suffered a 67-64 heartbreaker on Feb. 16, 2018. The Bruins haven't won in Corvallis since 2013.

UCLA's Last Time Out
Kennedy Burke scored a career-high 29 points on a career-best 12 field goals made in a historic 74-69 win over the second-ranked Oregon Ducks on Friday.

UCLA, which trailed by 22 in the second quarter, closed the first half with a 7-0 run to pull within 15 (42-27) at halftime.

It was the Bruins' biggest win since defeating then-ranked No. 2 Stanford, 69-56, on Jan. 4, 2008, at Pauley Pavilion.

Buckets for Burke
With a career-high 29-point performance at No. 2 Oregon, Kennedy Burke moved to No. 18 all-time in program history for career points, passing Anne Dean (1,364), who played for the Bruins 1983-86.

Beat of Her Own Drum
This season, Lajahna Drummer became the 10th player in program history with 800 career rebounds. With an 11-rebound performance at No. 2 Oregon, Drummer moved to No. 9 all-time for career rebounds with 817, passing Sandra Van Embricqs (811; 1987-90). She needs three more rebounds to pass legendary great Ann Meyers, who collected 819 from 1975-78.

Onyen-WOW
Michaela Onyenwere is having a breakout year and has scored 20 or more 13 times this season, including seven 25-plus point games. In addition to nine double-doubles, Onyenwere has scored in double figures in 15 straight games. She has matched a career-high 29 points twice, including a 29-point effort at No. 18 California on Jan. 4. In Pac-12 play, Onyenwere is averaging 20.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Onyenwere has made 17 3-pointers this season, all of which have come in Pac-12 play (only had one last year).

Comeback Kids
UCLA's 22-point comeback against No. 2 Oregon was the largest under Cori Close and the biggest win for UCLA since the Bruins knocked off then-ranked No. 2 Stanford, 69-56, on Jan. 4, 2008. UCLA collected its eighth win over a top-10 AP team under Cori Close (8-32).

Road Warriors
UCLA has four road wins over ranked opponents this season, the most in a single season since 1980-81, when the Bruins were awarded five wins (fifth thanks to a forfeit by South Carolina on Jan. 5, 1981). UCLA has been lethal on the road, recording a 8-2 overall record and 7-1 mark in Pac-12 play.
