No. 25 UCLA Falls in Final Seconds to No. 6 Oregon in OT, 88-83

LAS VEGAS – The 25th-ranked UCLA women's basketball team took No. 6 Oregon wire-to-wire before the valiant effort came up short to the Ducks in overtime, 88-83, on Saturday night at MGM Grand Arena in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament.
Kennedy Burke collected her second double-double of the season, tallying a team-high 27 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three blocks and two steals.
Japreece Dean flirted with a triple-double, posting 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. UCLA got another double-double from Michaela Onyenwere (17 points, 10 rebounds), her 12th of the season.
UCLA fell to 20-12 but has won 11 of its last 14 games, while Oregon improved to 29-3 on the season. The Bruins shot over 47 percent (9-for-19) from deep and held Sabrina Ionescu to 4-for-19 shooting.
The Storyline
After Burke scored the first five points for UCLA, Oregon responded with a 10-0 run to go up double digits (15-5). On Burke's first 3-pointer of the game, she passed Jordin Canada to No. 10 all-time in program history with 100 for her career.
Back-to-back treys from Dean sliced the deficit to five (20-15), but Oregon responded with one of its five first-quarter 3-pointers and entered the second frame with a 25-21 lead.
An intense second quarter saw Oregon use a 7-0 run to go up 24-16 before the Bruins pulled to within six (36-30) at the break. The two teams combined to finish the frame 3-for-17 from the field.
UCLA came out of the gates with a sense of urgency, tying the game at 39 with a basket by Burke. UCLA continued to battle, as Burke anticipated a pass, got the pick and then found Onyenwere on the run to make it 45-43 UCLA and force an Oregon timeout.
A 6-0 Ducks run, that included a buzzer-beater 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter, propelled Oregon to a 56-52 advantage.
After falling behind by six (60-54), UCLA responded with a 12-7 run to pull within one (67-66), as Burke connected on another trey.
With 3:29 left to play, Dean knocked down a 3-pointer to knot the game at 69 apiece. She later hit another to make it 74-73 UCLA with 45 seconds left, before Ruthy Hebard scored on the block to put the lead back in the hands of the Ducks. Onyenwere later split a two-shot penalty, sending the game into overtime.
Two straight baskets by Onyenwere put UCLA in front by two (79-77), before Oregon battled back with Hebard and Satou Sabally inside to go up 85-83. The Bruins got a couple of good looks on their end, but Oregon ended up getting possession after a jump ball.
Sabally went 1-for-2 from the line to put Oregon up 86-83, but UCLA came up empty on its next possession.
