Ross Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of Week

Junior Kyla Ross from the UCLA gymnastics team has been named the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Apr. 1-7.
Over two consecutive days of competition at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional, Ross won every event in which she competing, scoring three perfect 10s, including two in the Regional Final to help send UCLA to the NCAA Championships. In the semifinal, Ross scored her fourth 10.0 on vault and added a 9.975 on uneven bars and 9.95 on beam to take home the Regional titles on those events. In the final, she recorded her third 39.850 all-around score of the season, still the highest all-around total in the nation this year. Ross started the meet with her second perfect 10 of the year on beam and ended the meet with a 10 on uneven bars, her sixth of the year and school-record ninth of her career. The Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year has scored 14 perfect 10s this year, including at least one in 10 consecutive meets. She ranks second in school history with 19 career 10s.
This is Ross' second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award this season and seventh of her career.
