ORLANDO, Fla. โ€“ Former UCLA standout Roy Barth was inducted into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Sunday, becoming the 22nd Bruin to join the prestigious club.

The governing body of college tennis welcomed six new members as part of the annual ITA Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon, held prior to the start of the NCAA Division I men's team championship match at the USTA National Campus. Joining Barth in the class were coaches Dave Fish and Greg Patton and players Somdev Devvarman, Sargis Sargsian and Doug Verdieck.

Part of head coach Glenn Bassett's first three teams (1967-69), Barth co-captained the Bruins with Steve Tidball in 1969. Barth and Tidball achieved All-America status as doubles partners in 1968 and 1969, posting a top-three showing each year. In 1968, Barth-Tidball finished as the national runner-up to Bob Lutz and Stan Smith of USC. UCLA went a combined 44-5-1 in Barth's three seasons in Westwood, claiming Bassett's first Pac-8 championship in 1969 and laying the foundation for NCAA titles in 1970 and 1971.

Barth went on to compete in the singles and doubles draws of each Grand Slam tournament, notching a career-best fourth-round singles showing at the 1969 US Open. He is now the Director Emeritus of Tennis at the Kiaweh Island Golf Resort southwest of Charleston, S.C., where he has spent over 40 years.

Barth joins fellow Bruins Marcel Freeman (inducted in 2011), Brad Pearce (2009), Jim Pugh (2008), Jeff Borowiak (2006), Ferdi Taygan (2006), Larry Nagler (2004), Brian Teacher (2001), Peter Fleming (1998), Ian Crookenden (1997), Bob Perry (1997), Billy Martin (1996), Bassett (1993), Frank Stewart (1992), Jack Tidball (1992), Allen Fox (1988), Herb Flam (1987), Charles Pasarell (1987), Jimmy Connors (1986), Bill Ackerman (1984), Arthur Ashe (1983) and J.D.
