LOS ANGELES โ The UCLA track & field team will look to make some noise at this year's Pac-12 Conference Championships, set to take place on May 11-12 at Drachman Stadium on the campus of the University of Arizona.

For just the second time in event history, both days will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network, starting at 7:30 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, May 11, and at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Paul Sunderland (1984 Olympian), Tom Feuer (Emmy Award-winning Olympics producer), Jordan Kent (four-time track & field All-American at Oregon) and Jill Savage will cover the action.

The Pac-12 Championships will open on Saturday with the men's hammer at 11 a.m. (PT/MST). The next event will be the men's javelin at 4:30 p.m., and the National Anthem will be at 4:50 p.m. to kick off the track events, which will open with the trials of the men's 4x100m at 5 p.m.

Sunday's action will start at 11 a.m. with the women's hammer, followed by the men's discus and men's triple jump at 4 p.m. The first track event will be the men's 4x100m final at 6 p.m.

Pac-12 Multis Recap
Christina Chenault and Isa Videler represented UCLA at this season's Combined Events portion of the Pac-12 Championships. With 5,556 points, Chenault registered a third-place finish, helping UCLA dial in six points for the women. She PR'ed in the 100m hurdles, finishing the race in 14.31 to place fifth, as well as the long jump at 5.96m (19-6.75) to place second. Chenault also had strong efforts in the 800m run (second; 2:15.55) and high jump (third; 1.68m; 5-6). Videler's highlight of the Pac-12 Multis was her PR in the shot put, as she tossed 10.61m (34-9.75). She ultimately placed ninth with 5,043 points in her first career heptathlon.

Flashback to 2018
At last season's Pac-12 Championships, the UCLA women placed sixth with 57 points, while the men took ninth with 38 points overall. The Bruins were led by a pair of Pac-12 champions in Jessie Maduka (triple jump; 13.59m; 44-7) and Simon Litzell (javelin; 74.46m; 244-3). For the women, USC won its first conference championship since 1996, while the Oregon men won its 12th-consecutive conference crown.

UCLA's shot put department of Dotun Ogundeji, Otito Ogbonnia, Nate Esparza and Jacob Wilson lead the NCAA in the NCAA Division I USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings. They have averaged a season-best qualifying mark of 19.73m (64-9). The Bruin men are also fourth in the long jump, fifth in the discus and 10th in the 5000m.

On the women's side, the Bruins rank fifth in the shot put, 26th in the javelin and 35th in the 400m.

USTFCCCA #EventSquad rankings places a rank order to a program's "squad" of athletes in a particular event, using the cumulative season-best qualifying marks from a team's top-four ranked athletes on the national desending-order list. As with the national decending-order list for qualifying and seeding purposes, marks are subject to be converted due to track size and/or altitude. A team must have four or more athletes with a valid season-best mark recorded with TFRRS to achieve a ranking in a particular event.

Top 25 Marks by the Bruins
UCLA has posted 18 top-25 marks this 2019 outdoor season - three of which have come from standout thrower Alyssa Wilson, who is well on her way to qualifying for three throwing events at the NCAAs (was the lone student-athlete to do so last season). She currently ranks second in the shot put (18.02m; 59-1.5), second in the hammer (70.63m; 231-9) and 12th in the discus (56.97m; 186-11). Christina Chenault is 15th in the nation for the heptathlon (5,585 points) and Ashlie Blake, a senior thrower, ranks 10th in the shot put at 17.12m (56-2). Elleyse Garrett, another senior, owns the 15th-best pole vault (4.31m; 14-1.75) in the country. In the javelin, sophomore Ilaria Casarotto mustered the 21st-best throw at 51.53m (169-1), while Meleni Rodney completed the 400m in 52.18 - ranking ninth in the NCAA. On the men's side, Robert Brandt has the 13th-fastest time (13:36.18) in the 5000m and 24th-fastest time in the 10K (28:55.27). In the high jump, Isaiah Holmes cleared 2.20m (7-2.5) to tie for 12th in the NCAA, while freshman Sean Lee also ranks in the top 25, sitting 22nd with a clearance of 2.17m (7-1.5). Dotun Ogundeji has the third-best shot put mark (21.05m; 69-0.75) and 10th-best discus throw (60.54m; 198-7), while Nate Esparza (19.50m; 63-11.75) and Otito Ogbonnia (19.43m; 63-9) rank 14th and 16th, respectively, in the shot put. Justin Stafford's effort of 68.57m (225-0) in the hammer ranks 14th in the country, while Simon Litzell's javelin mark of 71.24m (233-9) is good for 18th.
