OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.ย - The Bruins tied Women's College World Series records with four home runs and 16 runs scored on Monday, as redshirt sophomore Aaliyah Jordan, senior Brianna Tautalafua, sophomore Briana Perez and redshirtย junior Rachel Garcia all left the yard in a 16-3 victory over Oklahoma. UCLA takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three WCWS Championship Series, with game two scheduled for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

The Bruins (55-6) had 16 hits from nine different players. Sophomore Kinsley Washington set a career high with four hits, while Garcia, Jordan, Perez and junior Bubba Nickles each recorded two-hit contests.

All three UCLA pitchers saw time in the circle. Garcia (28-1) earned the win, going five innings and allowing one run, three hits and one walk. She had 1-2-3 frames in the first and fourth. Freshman Megan Faraimo tossed one inning of relief, giving up an unearned run and one hit. Sophomore Holly Azevedo got the final three outs, striking out one and allowing a run and three hits.

The Bruin offense was jump-started in the top of the first inning, as Jordan connected on a two-out homer to right, her 12th of the season.

After Oklahoma (57-5) tied the score with a solo homer in the bottom of the second, the Bruins took advantage of three Sooner errors in the top of the third to score two times. Washington led off with a bunt single and moved to second on an error. Freshman Kelli Godin then laid down a bunt, but the throw was dropped at first, which allowed Washington to score UCLA's second run. Godin, who took second on the previous play, would come in to score on a Nickles single and an OU error in left to make it 3-1.

In the fourth, freshman Colleen Sullivan singled up the middle with one out and came home on a two-out double to left by Washington to increase the lead to 4-1.

UCLA tacked on one more run in the fifth. Nickles walked to open the frame, moved to third on a one-out single by Jordan and scored on a two-out single to left by senior Taylor Pack to bring the advantage to 5-1.

The Bruins broke it open with six runs in the sixth. UCLA left the yard three times in the inning, starting with a solo homer by Tautalafua over the left-field pole, her fourth of the season. Following a Washington bunt hit and a one-out walk to Nickles, Perez increased the lead to 9-1 with a three-run homer to right-center, her sixth of the year. After a Jordan walk, Garcia connected on her 11th homer of the season to left to make it 11-1.

Oklahoma added a solo homer in the sixth, but UCLA answered with five in the top of the seventh. Tautalafua led off by reaching on an error, and was pinch-run for by senior Danae Blodgett. After an infield hit for Washington, sophomore Julie Rodriguez posted a pinch-hit double to left-center to bring home Blodgett and Washington to make it 13-2. Nickles then singled to right-center to bring in senior Stevie Wisz, who was running for Rodriguez, to get the lead to 14-2. Perez followed with a double, and one out later, Garcia drove in both Nickles and Perez on a single up the middle to make it 16-2.

The Sooners scored a run in the seventh, but the Bruins would finish off a 13-run win, the largest margin of victory in a WCWS Finals game.
