
Senior Kyla Ross of the UCLA gymnastics team has been selected the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 13-19, setting a new record with her 10th career award.
Ross won the all-around for the third time in as many meets, scoring a season-best 39.750 to help UCLA win a tri-meet at BYU on Saturday. Ross also scored her second consecutive perfect 10 on uneven bars and her NCAA record 11th career 10 on the event. She now has 21 career perfect 10s, tied for fourth-most in NCAA history. In addition to the all-around and uneven bars victories, Ross won balance beam with a season-high 9.975 and vault with a 9.875 and also tied for second on floor exercise with a 9.9. UCLA recorded season-best team (197.425), uneven bars (49.525) and balance beam (49.375) totals in the meet.
This is Ross's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season.
