Nine former UCLA standouts will be included in the first induction class for the Southern California Basketball Hall of Fame in August 2020.
 
This group of nine former UCLA basketball players and coaches comprise a portion of the 20-person induction class for the Southern California Basketball Hall of Fame – former players Marques Johnson, Don MacLean, Ann Meyers Drysdale, Tracy Murray, Ed O'Bannon, Kiki Vandeweghe, Bill Walton and Jamaal Wilkes and former men's basketball head coach Jim Harrick.
 
Meyers Drysdale, a standout for the women's basketball program from 1974-78, and Johnson, O'Bannon and Walton (of the men's basketball program) all secured national player of the year honors during their respective college careers. Harrick served as the men's basketball head coach from 1988-96 and led UCLA to the NCAA championship in 1995.
 
Johnson (1975), O'Bannon (1995), Walton (1972, 1973) and Wilkes (1972, 1973) all helped lead the men's basketball program to national championships.
 
Meyers Drysdale helped the women's basketball program capture the AIAW 1978 national title.
 
Vandeweghe played for multiple NCAA Tournament teams from 1977-80, while MacLean and Murray teamed together in the early 1990s to lead the Bruins to consecutive NCAA Tournaments.
 
Three of these individuals – Meyers Drysdale, Walton and Wilkes – have already been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
 
The 20-person induction class will be recognized at induction ceremonies on Aug. 23, 2020 in Anaheim.
