NEW YORK, N.Y. – The UCLA track and field team wrapped up its weekend in New York City at Dr. Sander Invite/Columbia Challenge and came away with several record-breaking performances.

Shae Anderson continued her stellar debut season with the Bruins, taking the victory in the women's 400m with indoor school-record time of 53.46. Anderson ducked under Bruin great Sheena Johnson's existing record time of 53.63 that she set back in 2003. With her victory in the 600m (1:30.57) at the UW last week, Anderson now has a pair of individual wins to her credit this season, and also anchored the Bruins' 4x400m relay squad that ran 3:42.50 to win the event title Seattle.

It was also a day to remember for freshman sprinter Catherine Leger, who clocked a time of 24.02 in the 200m to finish second overall in her UCLA debut. The time moved Leger into fourth place all-time in UCLA indoor history in the event. Fellow freshman Makenzy Pierre-Webster also etched her name in school history in the 200m, clocking a fifth-place time of 24.28 that was good for 10th all-time in indoor program history.

Webster and Leger would go on to run the first and second legs of the 4x400m relay for the Bruins, respectively. They teamed up with freshman Chinyere Okoro and senior Meleni Rodney and took second place with a time of 3:40.11. The men's squad – featuring Ismail Tuner, Chase Wells, Riley Kelly, and Cameron Reynolds – clocked a time of 3:14.10, good for fourth place overall.

Kelly led the way for the Bruins in the men's 800m, taking sixth overall with a time of 1:51.74. Freshmen Mason Ratkovich (1:55.00) and Jett Charvet (1:55.42) finished in 23rd and 28th, respectively. The women's competition saw sophomore Gwyn George (2:12.54) and freshmen Morgan Calcagnie (2:16.51) take 16th and 26th place, respectively.

The men's mile saw senior Arturo Sotomayor post a top-5 finish, crossing at 4:08.64 for fourth place overall. Junior Chris Morzenti was close behind in sixth, finishing with a time of 4:09.19. Senior Jackie Garner was the UCLA women's lone representative in the mile, finishing in 20th place at 5:03.20.

In the field, senior Michael Fancey took seventh place for the Bruins in the men's pole vault, clearing 4.95m (16-02.75). Senior Jazmin Moss (11.47m, 37-07.75) and sophomore Hawa Kamara (10.84m, 35-06.75) finished in 17th and 21st place, respectively, in the women's triple jump competition.
