WOODLAND, Calif. -- UCLA's Hannah Palmer (Irvine, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) has been named the MPSF/KAP7 Newcomer of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

The freshman attacker led the Bruins in total points (11) and assists (six), was tied for the team lead in scoring with five goals and collected five steals in a 3-1 week and a third-place finish at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational (Feb. 21-23).

Palmer's most impressive outing came in the third-place win over No. 3 Hawai'i, when she had a hand in six of the Bruins' 10 goals. She dished four assists and scored twice in that contest, while adding two steals and drawing one exclusion.

This is the first career MPSF honor for Palmer.
