HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Freshmen Emilie Paltrinieri and Emma Spitz both finished in a tie for 10th at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, as the Bruins placed fourth. UCLA shot a +21 (885) on Sunday at the Long Cove Club to close at 33-over 885 for three rounds.
Paltrinieri and Spitz both had 6-over 77s in their final rounds to finish at 7-over 220. Paltrinieri made a birdie on the seventh, three bogeys and two doubles, while Spitz posted a birdie on the sixth and seven bogeys. Freshman Annabel Wilson tied for 29th (+10, 223), shooting an 8-over 79 in the final round on one birdie on the 17th, five bogeys and two doubles. Senior Clare Legaspi tied for 43rd (+13, 226), posting a 3-over 74 on two birdies on No. 2 and 5 and five bogeys. Senior Mariel Galdiano tied for 46th (+14, 227), shooting a 6-over 77 on one birdie on the 15th and seven bogeys.
Next up for the Bruins is the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, March 23-25, at the Kapalua Golf - The Bay Course in Lahaina, Hawaii.
