LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's basketball team will enter the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas as the No. 2 seed in the league's 12-team field.
 
As the second place team in the Pac-12 standings, the Bruins (19-12, 12-6 Pac-12) have secured a first-round bye and will not play until Thursday evening in the tournament's quarterfinal round. UCLA's first game in the Pac-12 Tournament will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. (PT).
 
The Bruins will play the winner of Wednesday evening's first-round contest between No. 7-seed Stanford and No. 10-seed California. UCLA only played Stanford and California once this season. The Bruins lost at home to Stanford, 74-59, on Thursday, Jan. 15, and registered a 50-40 win four days later against California (Sunday, Jan. 19).

UCLA's game on Thursday will be televised by the Pac-12 Network. Ted Robinson and Bill Walton will have the call live at T-Mobile Arena, while Lewis Johnson will serve as the sideline reporter.
 
Since the Pac-12 incorporated 12 teams, prior to the 2011-12 school year, and adopted the tournament's current format, the Bruins have now secured a first-round bye in six of nine seasons. UCLA has not been seeded as high as the No. 2 slot since 2014, when the Bruins went 3-0 in the Pac-12 Tournament to win the title for the first time since 2008.
 
This will mark the eighth consecutive season with the Pac-12 Tournament having taken place in Las Vegas. Since that move in March of 2013, UCLA has compiled an overall tournament record of 9-6 with championship game finishes in 2013 (lost to Oregon) and 2014 (defeated Arizona). UCLA has not returned to the Pac-12 Tournament's title game since 2014.
 
The Bruins have advanced to the Pac-12 Tournament semifinal round in five of the past nine tournaments, since the league adopted its current 12-team field.
