BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Twelve members of the UCLA women's water polo team garnered ACWPC All-Academic Awards for 2020, the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced. The Bruins also earned team recognition for completing the campaign with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

Freshman Abbi Hill was tops among the UCLA individual honorees with an "Outstanding" designation. Seven Bruins collected "Superior" nods, while four others rounded out the group with "Excellent" awards. It marked the third straight season that 12 Bruins were honored by the ACWPC.

Freshmen Layne Anzaldo, Brooke Doten, and Fiona Kuesis joined redshirt freshman Alex Peros to earn their first "Superior" nod, an honor that rewards GPAs of 3.41-3.70. Sophomore Parker Hoffman picked up her first "Superior" award while sophomore Katrina Drake won her second and junior Lexi Liebowitz garnered her third.

Each of the remaining four honorees earned "Excellent" awards from the ACWPC. Junior Roxy Wheaton picked up her third consecutive ACWPC honor and her second straight "Excellent" award after posting a GPA of 3.20-3.40. Sophomores Bella Wentzel and Ava Johnson each earned their second straight "Excellent" honor while sophomore Bella Baia earned it for the first time in her career.
