CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - Redshirt junior Aaliyah Jordan had three hits, including her first home run of the season, driving in four, while graduate student Jenavee Peres added three hits, as the top-ranked Bruins improved to 12-0 on the year, defeating Texas A&M by a score of 9-1 in six innings on Friday at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

UCLA had 12 hits from six different players, as juniors Briana Perez and Kinsley Washington both posted two-hit contests. Sophomore Megan Faraimo went the distance in the circle to move to 7-0 on the season, striking out 10 in six innings. She allowed one run, three hits and no walks. Faraimo retired the last 10 batters she faced, striking out two in each of the first four frames.

The Bruins scored five times in the first inning. Washington led off with a single to right and stole second. Perez followed with a bunt hit to get Washington to third, and Perez got herself into a pickle between first and second to try and force a throw home, which the Aggies did, however Washington slid in safely to put UCLA on the board. Jordan then hit her first home run of the season to left to put the Bruins up 3-0. One out later, Peres singled up the middle and came home on a two-run homer by junior Delanie Wisz, her third of the season, to make it 5-0.

After Texas A&M (10-5) got on the board with a solo homer in the top of the third, the Bruins scored two times in the fourth. With one out, Jordan singled up the middle, and one out later, Peres crushed a two-run homer, her third of the season, to put UCLA up 7-1.

The Bruins brought out the mercy rule in the sixth. Washington led off with a single up the middle, Perez bunted for a hit and Jordan scored them both on a double to right to give UCLA a 9-1 win.

UCLA plays twice on Saturday at Big League Dreams Sports Park, taking on Wisconsin at 3 p.m. and No. 7 Florida at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on FloSoftball for a fee.
