WTEN Roster Named to ITA Scholar-Athlete List

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Each of the UCLA women's tennis team's nine student-athletes was named a Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Monday. Collectively, the Bruins were also named an ITA All-Academic Team for the third year in a row.
Redshirt senior Jada Hart, juniors Abi Altick, Sophie Bendetti and Annette Goulak, sophomores Elysia Bolton and Taylor Johnson and freshmen Abbey Forbes, Caroline Goldberg and Sasha Vagramov received Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Scholar-Athletes must be varsity letter winners and have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale for the 2019-20 academic year. In order to be eligible for the team award, the program must possess a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above, factoring in all varsity letter winners.
Altick, Bendetti and Goulak received Scholar-Athlete recognition for the third year in a row. Goulak earned her previous two awards while at the University of Georgia. Johnson collected her second individual award in as many years.
Bolton, Forbes, Goldberg, Hart and Vagramov were each honored for the first time.
The awards represent the latest in a run on academic accolades for the Bruins. Altick, Bendetti, Bolton and Johnson were named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll last month. Forbes, Goldberg, Goulak and Vagramov were not eligible for the conference awards, as the quartet had not served one full year in residence at the time of the announcement.
Vivian Wolff, who signed a grant-in-aid with UCLA in April following three seasons at Georgia, was also named a Scholar-Athlete.
