Redshirt junior forward Cody Riley of the UCLA men's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Jan. 4-10.
Riley averaged team-highs with 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in the Bruins' two victories in Arizona last week. Riley shot 71.4% from the field, connecting on 10 of 14 shots, and made 11 of 15 free throw attempts (73.3%). He notched a career-best 22 points and a career-high 13 rebounds in the Bruins' overtime win at Arizona State last Thursday night. In that game, he made 8 of 11 shots and 6 of 8 free throws. Two nights later, Riley registered nine points and six assists as the Bruins edged Arizona, 81-76, to sweep the two-game road series.
This is Riley's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and second of his career.
