Sophomore Jaime Jaquez Jr. from UCLA Men's Basketball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Feb. 16-22.
Jaquez Jr. averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in UCLA's pair of home wins last week. Jaquez Jr. scored a career-high 25 points and had seven rebounds in the Bruins' 74-60 win last Thursday evening on his birthday. He connected on 10 of 12 shots from the field and had three steals. Two nights later, Jaquez Jr. registered nine points and a team-leading 10 rebounds as the Bruins outlasted Arizona State, 80-79. UCLA has posted a 16-5 overall record and a 12-3 mark in Pac-12 play (currently tied with USC for first place in the Pac-12 standings).
