LOS ANGELES – Redshirt sophomore Megan Faraimo from UCLA Softball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Feb. 23-Mar. 1.
Faraimo pitched the 19th perfect game in UCLA history on Wednesday, Feb. 24 against previously undefeated San Diego State. It was the first perfect game of her career and the third no-hitter of her career. Five of her 15 outs were via strikeout. She added seven strikeouts in Sunday's game against No. 8 Oregon.
This the first-career UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week award for Faraimo.
