The United States softball team improved to 2-0 in the Tokyo Games with a 1-0 victory over Canada on Thursday in Japan. For the second game in a row, Delaney Spaulding hit seventh and started at shortstop. She doubled in her first at-bat to lead off the second inning, going 1-for-3 at the plate. Bubba Nickles made her Olympic debut, appearing as a pinch-hitter in the fifth. Ally Carda and Rachel Garcia did not play.
Team USA's next game will be against Mexico on Friday at 10:30 p.m. PT (Saturday afternoon in Tokyo) on NBCSN and NBCOlympics.com.
