Goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy of the UCLA women's soccer team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Sept. 6-12.

Brzykcy tied her career-high with nine saves in a 1-0 shutout victory over eighth-ranked and defending NCAA champion Santa Clara on Sept. 9. The Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week and reigning Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year tied her career-best with nine saves, including a 1-v-1 opportunity against Izzy D'Aquila in the 61st minute and a D'Aquila volley attempt in the 75th minute. The shutout was Brzykcy's third solo shutout of the season and UCLA's fourth consecutive. She has not allowed a goal all season. Additionally, Brzykcy set up the game-winning goal against Santa Clara with a long service into the other half of the field that led to Reilyn Turner's goal.

This is Brzkycy's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and of her career.
