November 09, 2021 | Women's Soccer

Sophomore forward Reilyn Turner of the women's soccer team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Nov. 1-7.

Turner led UCLA to a 3-1 victory over USC that gave the Bruins the Pac-12 title for the second consecutive year and 13th time overall. UCLA came into the game needing a victory to overtake the first-place Trojans, and Turner's 18th minute goal gave the Bruins the lead and early momentum. Six minutes later, Turner recorded an assist on Olivia Athens' goal that made it 2-0 UCLA in the 23rd minute. The Bruins held the two-goal lead until the 78th minute and then put the game away with a third goal in the 83rd. Turner's first-half goal was her 10th goal of the year. Her 10 goals and 21 points rank second on the team. UCLA finished the regular season unbeaten at 16-0-3 and currently holds a 26-game unbeaten streak.

This is Turner's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and second of her career.

Also nominated: Anna Dodson, W. Volleyball; Makoto Kenney, M. Water Polo; Constantinos Michaelides, M. Soccer; Emma Spitz, W. Golf.
