Senior Claire Grover of the women's swimming & diving team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Dec. 13-19.
Grover led the Bruins to a first-place finish at the UNLV Invitational over the weekend, figuring in five event wins for UCLA (three relay, two individual). She recorded the fastest split of any swimmer in the field in each of the three relays in which she competed (200 free, 200 medley, 400 free), and notched NCAA B Cuts en route to individual wins in both sprint freestyle events (50 free, 100 free). UCLA paced the five-school invitational field with a team score of 1,322, nearly 300 points higher than runner-up UNLV.
This is Grover's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and second of her career.
Also nominated: Sophia Kosturos, W. Swimming & Diving.
