Los Angeles – No. 3 UCLA won its fifth consecutive game to start the season, defeating No. 20 Oregon, 3-0. Redshirt freshman Sunshine Fontes recorded her first multiple-goal game of her collegiate career, scoring two goals, including the game-winner in the first half.
Fontes dropped her first goal in the 37th minute, taking a pass from Olivia Athens just inside the box and firing far post to give UCLA the 1-0 lead, which the Bruins took into halftime.

The Ducks (2-2-1, 1-1-0) came out firing after halftime, with Ally Cook cracking a shot that went off the crossbar but managed to stay out of goal in the 49th minute. Zoe Hasenauer had a good look that was blocked in the 67th minute, and then just three minutes later, the Bruins doubled the lead on a goal by Mia Fishel. The sophomore forward pounced on a loose ball and went top shelf to the far post to record her third goal of the season.
