Head coach Carrie Forsyth has announced the signing of Caroline Canales, who will join the UCLA women's golf program this fall.
"We are very excited to welcome Caroline to our roster," Forsyth said. "She is a fantastic athlete and an emerging talent in the amateur golf ranks. Caroline is a player that we believe will continue to grow and develop in her years at UCLA. We fully expect her to play a huge role in the continuing legacy of excellence that is UCLA Women's Golf."
Canales had a successful summer in 2020, reaching the quarterfinals of match play at the California Women's Amateur Championship last July and tying for fourth (-6, 210) at the SCGA Women's Amateur Championship in August. She also made the quarterfinals of match play at the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur, tying for 21st in stroke play thanks to a second-round, 4-under 68.
Canales preps at Calabasas High School in Calabasas, Calif. She was the 2018 and 2019 Daily News Player of the Year, winning the '19 CIF State Southern California Regional and the '19 CIF State Championship.
