Caesar, Fuller Kearney Secure Pac-12 Rowing Honors

May 27, 2021 | Women's Rowing

SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA sophomore Olivia Caesar has earned All-Pac-12 women's rowing honors, as announced Thursday by the Pac-12 Conference office.

In addition, head coach Amy Fuller Kearney has been named Pac-12 co-Coach of the Year along with Washington's Yasmin Farooq. This marks the first conference coach of the year award for Fuller Kearney, who recently concluded her 20th season as the Bruins' head coach.

Caesar, who hails from Bath, England, rowed in UCLA's varsity eight crew throughout her sophomore season. She was an instrumental part of the Bruins' program, as UCLA secured dual-meet wins over Loyola Marymount, USC and San Diego. Caesar rowed two seat in the Bruins' V8+ crew at the season-culminating Pac-12 Championships on Lake Natoma.

Fuller Kearney helped lead the Bruins' program to back-to-back dual-meet wins against Loyola Marymount and USC in March, after UCLA had endured a lengthy layoff during the offseason due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bruins also registered a dual-meet win over San Diego on April 24, before racing against USC and Stanford on May 1 and at the Pac-12 Championships on May 16.

Joining Caesar on this year's All-Pac-12 team included Esther Briz Zamorano (Stanford), Nina Castagna (Washington), Teal Cohen (Washington), Ella Cossill (Washington), Muryn Greene (Oregon State), Skylar Jacobson (Washington), Zoe McCutcheon (USC), Kelsey McGinley (Stanford), Jessica Norris (Washington State) and Meg Saunders (Stanford).

Washington's Ella Cossill was named the Pac-12 women's rowing athlete of the year. Stanford's Mathilda Kitzmann earned Pac-12 women's rowing newcomer of the year acclaim.
