Goulak Receives CoSIDA Academic All-District Acclaim

ORLANDO, Fla. โ Graduating senior Annette Goulak of UCLA women's tennis earned a spot on the 2020-21 Academic All-Districtยฎ Women's At-Large First Team for her combined performances on the court and in the classroom, CoSIDA announced Thursday.
Goulak, who maintained a 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) over the course of her two seasons on the roster and helped lead the Bruins the NCAA Championships quarterfinal round this past season, was honored as part of the larger NCAA Division I and geographic district 8 lists. District 8 is comprised of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.
A transfer from the University of Georgia, Goulak has accumulated numerous academic awards in recent months. She was tabbed the NCAA Elite 90 award winner for women's tennis, a prize reserved for the student-athlete with the highest GPA at the season-ending tournament. Goulak was also honored as the female Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the virtual UCLA Scholar-Athlete Banquet for her department-wide highest cumulative GPA.
In her field of play, Goulak received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Most Improved Senior award for the Southwest Region after posting a team-high 36 combined singles and doubles wins in 2021. She posted identical 18-3 records in each discipline and reached a career-best No. 57 in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings with partner Vivian Wolff this year. Goulak also earned an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection for the completed season. She was off to records of 15-6 in singles play and 20-4 on the doubles courts before the 2019-20 campaign was cut short due to COVID-19.
First-team Academic All-Districtยฎ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-Americaยฎ ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-Americaยฎ honorees will be announced in early August.
