Men's Basketball
Former UCLA standout guards Jrue Holiday and Zach LaVine helped the U.S. Men's Basketball Team to the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics with an 87-82 win over France in the gold medal contest on Saturday in Tokyo.

Holiday and LaVine won gold medals in their first-ever appearance in the Olympic Games, becoming the 11th and 12th former UCLA men's basketball players to secure gold medals for Team USA in the Olympics.

In the gold medal game, Holiday finished with 11 points and five rebounds while LaVine totaled five points. They became the first Bruins to have won Olympic gold medals since 2012, when Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook helped Team USA secure gold at the Olympic Games in London.

Women's Water Polo
The U.S. Olympic Women's Water Polo Team completed a three-peat at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games with a dominant win in the gold medal game against Spain, 14-5, on Saturday, August 7. It was the largest margin of victory ever in a gold medal match.

All three Bruins started and scored for Team USA, setting the tone early as the U.S. led 4-1 at the end of the first period. Three of the four goals were delivered by Bruins with Alys Williams scoring at the 7:33 mark of the first period. Rachel Fattal set up Maggie Steffens for the second goal of the game (3:36). Then Maddie Musselman scored the first of her game-high three goals (0:43) to put the U.S. up 3-1. Fattal would get in on the scoring, beating the game clock with a goal just before the buzzer (0:01) to give Team USA a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Bruins' Bronte Halligan made her seventh-consecutive start for Australia as the Aussie Stingers wrapped up the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a fifth-place finish and a 14-7 win over the Netherlands on Saturday, August 7. Halligan had two goals and an incredible seven steals with one field block in the win. Competing in her first Olympic Games, the two-time All-American at UCLA registered 10 goals, 11 steals, three rebounds, and six field blocks as the Stingers went 5-2 in Tokyo.

Baseball
Eric Filia and USA Baseball secured a silver medal after suffering a 2-0 setback to host Japan in Saturday's gold medal game at Yokohama Baseball Stadium.

Filia singled with one out in the second inning to collect Team USA's first hit of the game. He ended the contest with a 1-3 line.

Over six games at the Olympics, Filia batted .263 (5-19) and recorded a .391 on-base percentage. He led Team USA in both HBPs (3) and stolen bases (2).

Women's Basketball
Angela Dugalic and Serbia fell short in the bronze medal game early Saturday morning, falling to France, 91-76. Dugalic made her second-straight game appearance and logged seven minutes for Team Serbia, finishing with two points and a rebound. It's the second-straight top-four Olympic showing for Serbia, as the team earned bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Dugalic was coming off a semifinal performance against the United States that saw her score four points and record a team-high 10 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.ย

Women's Golf
Patty Tavatanakit tied for 23rd at the Olympic women's golf tournament at Kasumigaseki Country Club, while Mariajo Uribe tied for 50th. Tavatanakit shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday (in Tokyo), making six birdies and three bogeys to finish her four rounds at 5-under 279. Uribe posted a 1-under 70 in her final round, on three birdies and two bogeys, to shoot a 6-over 290.

Track & Field
Rai Benjamin earned his first-career Olympic gold medal as the United States men won the 4x400m relay early Saturday morning in Tokyo. Benjamin helped the Americans run a season-best time of 2:55.70 to earn the victory and cross over a second clear of the Netherlands (2:57.18) and Botswana (2:57.27). It's Benjamin's second medal of the Tokyo Games, as he earned silver in the 400m hurdles after running an American-record time of 46.17.
