Bruins Wrap Bill Dellinger Invite in Oregon

Springfield, Ore. – UCLA Cross Country continued its regular season at the Bill Dellinger Invite, with the Bruin men earning an eighth-place finish and the women's squad taking 14th overall.
Peter Herold was UCLA's top finisher on the men's side with a 15th-place finish on the 8k course (23:35.7). Darius Riley was the Bruins' second runner, taking 27th overall with a time of 23:43.2. Andrew Martinez secured a 44th-place finish with a time of 24:07, while Munir Kabbara (24:14.6) and Ronan McMahon-Staggs (24:15.3) went 50-53, respectively, to round out UCLA's scoring five.
UCLA freshmen Mateo Bianchi (24:27.4) and Ewan Macfarlane (24:34.4) finished in 66th and 76th place, respectively. Dylan Wilbur finished in 92nd place at 24:49.6 while Ajani Salcido crossed in 101st (25:04.2) in his debut race for the Bruins.
Audrey Allen led the way for the Bruin women in her first meet as a Bruin. She took 46th place on the 6k course with a time of 21:02.1. Emma Tavella followed closely in 49th place, crossing the line with a time of 21:04.3. Alyssa Bautista (21:19.5) was the team's third runner, crossing in 76th place with a time of 21:19.5. Claire Selleck finished in 79th place with a time of 21:22.3 and Ashley Johnson crossed in 99th (21:43.2) to complete the scoring for the Bruins.
Gwyn George was the team's sixth runner with a 104th place and a time of 21:51.3. Oregon native Mia Kane (21:54.4) finished in 104th place. Lavanya Pandey (22:13.7) and Sophia Hoelzel (22:14.0) went 124-125, respectively.

The Bruins are back in action for a pair of meets on the weekend of Oct. 15-16. UCLA is set to compete in the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals race in Tallahassee Fla., on Friday, Oct. 15, as well as the Highlander Invitational in Riverside, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 16.
