Track & Field Readies for Several Meets This Week

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Track & Field will continue its 2022 outdoor campaign with four meets this week, headlined by the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. The Bruins will also send contingents to the Brian Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. and the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.

Meet Recap – Triton Invitational (April 8-9)
A group of UCLA's pole vaulters competed at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. this past weekend. Camryn Thomson earned her first collegiate victory in the event with a clearance of 3.80m (12-05.50) while Katerina Adamiec was tied for second with a mark of 3.65m (11-11.75). Eden Henderson finished tied for eighth with a clearance of 3.20m (10-06.00). The men's competition saw Tate Curran finish as the top collegian, clearing 5.00m (16-04.75) for second place overall. Kyle Brown finished fifth with a mark of 4.40m (14-05.25).
 
Leading the Pac
Emma Tavella owns the top time in the Pac-12 in the women's 3000m steeplechase at 10:12.65. The junior achieved the impressive performance in her season outdoor debut at the Bob Larsen Distance Invitational on March 25. It was her first-ever appearance in the steeple and she now ranks No. 2 all-time in UCLA history in the event.

NCAA West Preliminaries – 2022 Performance List
Qualification for the NCAA Outdoor Championships first requires qualification to the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. The top 48 individuals and the top 24 relays in the West Region will qualify for Prelims.
